"Turning the Lens Indigenous Archive Photo Project"

Photography curator Paul Seesequasis, is a Willow Cree writer, cultural activist and journalist. He was a founding editor of the award-winning Aboriginal Voices magazine, the recipient of a Maclean-Hunter journalism award and worked as a program officer at The Canada Council for the Arts.

These archival images celebrates the everyday life and ongoing resilience in Frist Nations, Metis and Inuit communities from the 1920's through the 1970's- featuring historical photos from Maple Creek and Lac Pelletier and nationally from Archives Canada.

Paul is also the author of "Blanket Toss Under Midnight Sun – Portraits of Everyday Life in Eight Indigenous Communities” published by Knopf Canada in 2019.

We will have a few copies of "Blanket Toss Under Midnight Sun" available for purchase during this reception.
