The Windscape Kite Club is excited to announce a one-of-a-kind community celebration and fundraiser: “Colour the Wind: A Legacy Kite Arch Event” happening Saturday, May 31st from 1–4 PM at the Swift Current Museum.
This family-friendly event invites the public to purchase and COLOUR one of our special edition eddy kites that will become part of a spectacular kite arch installation—a soaring legacy that will fly each year at the beloved SaskPower Windscape Kite Festival.
“It’s more than a kite,” says Christine Ciona, one of the event organizers. “It’s a way to invest in community, creativity, and connection—forever.”
Participants can personalize a kite with their own art, message, colours, designs, or dedication. Each $50 kite purchase directly supports the SaskPower Windscape Kite Festival and contributes to building a lasting visual symbol of community spirit and imagination.
Attendees will enjoy:
- Hands-on kite colouring stations,
- A short presentation on the legacy of Windscape and the new arch,
- Opportunities to connect with artists, volunteers, and fellow kite-lovers,
- Celebratory cupcake,
- Family fun and photo moments for all ages.
This is a must-attend event for anyone who loves creativity, colour, and community—and wants to play a part in something that literally lifts spirits and sails into the future.
Tickets are available at https://bit.ly/LegacyArch or in person at the museum. Limited availability – early RSVP encouraged.
