May 7th and 8th mark the 80th anniversaries of the liberation of the Netherlands and Victory in Europe Day. In honour and remembrance of these two historic anniversaries, Royal Canadian Legion Branch 56 is hosting several events. In the morning from 10-11 AM we are hosting a commemorative ceremony at Memorial Park. Later in the evening we are hosting a banquet (meal) and live entertainment. Banquet starts at 6:30PM and goes till 8PM. Following the banquet we will have live performances from The Green Brae's Pipes and Drums, Darian and Aryden, Marcus Braun, and Darrin Schwartz. The events are open to everyone. Tickets for the banquet and entertainment are $35.00 each and can be purchased at the Legion office (239 1st Ave NE). Those wishing to join us for the entertainment (post 8PM) is $10.00 and can be paid at the door to the upper hall. Let us celebrate and remember together. All proceeds from this event go the Legion in order to help us continue our vital work in our community.
